POWER POINT PREPARATION WORKSHOP

Objectives:

·        To prepare the lessons in the book into Multimedia Content.

·        To make the students enjoy their Learning.

·        To create Interesting Learning Atmosphere.

·        To make teachers Computers Literate.

·        To put into use LCD Projectors and Laptops.

·        To utilize Locally Available Materials as Part of Learning Content.

·        To access computers by Students.

Target:

        This programme is for the Students of VI to VIII of all Middle Schools.

Need for the Programme:

        Integration of Technology with the Classroom Interaction is need of the hour. To make ALM more interesting for the Students. All the Middle Schools are supplied with Laptops and LCD Projectors. But the Teachers are reluctant in using Laptop and LCD Projectors. The use of Laptops and the Multimedia Package gives Joyful Learning Experience. When the content is taught through multimedia, the understanding of the contents by the students increase significantly. The teachers are motivated to use technology and prepare the multimedia content and teach  through multimedia on regular basis. Hence the Power Point Preparation workshop is essential for the teacher.

Methodology:

Selection of Teacher:

        The Teachers are selected based on the Subject knowledge  along with minimum level of Computer Literacy.

One Day Power Point Preparation Workshop:

        The Power Point Preparation Workshop includes the following Points.

·        Slide Preparation.

·        Picture Insertion.

·        Voice Recording.

·        Voice Mixing.

·        Voice Insertion

·        Movie Making

Outcome Observed:

·        Students Access to Computers.

·        Teacher prepare Multimedia Content on a regular basis along with the Local Area Based Materials.

·        Learning Curve of the Students increases.

 POWERPOINT VALIDATION TOOL PREPARATION WORKSHOP

·        DIET, Vellore District took initiatives to enhance the Learning Abilities of students by preparing PowerPoint Converted Video Programme to all units in each and every subject Standard from I to VIII by selected teachers.

·        They prepared the PowerPoint Converted Video Programmes.  As a Prime Organization DIET Ranipet provides its whole support by all means to bring out this innovative step.  Validating the prepared Power Point Programmes play an essential part of this Journey.  Hence DIET has planned to conduct Validation Tool Preparation Workshop for  PowerPoint converted Video Programme

·        The Powerpoint Validation Workshop was held at DIET, Ranipet on 05.01.2015.  In this workshop 16 Teachers of various subjects participated and prepared a Tool for each unit, every subject of third Trimester.  They are scrutinized and validated by the DIET faculty members.

·        The prepared tool is not only to validate the PowerPoint Converted Video Programme but also to evaluate the students’ learning level as a part of Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation.

POWERPOINT CONVERTED VIDEO PROGRAMME VALIDATION WORKSHOP

·        DIET Ranipet took innovative step to prepare Powerpoint Converted Video Programme for the students of Standard I to VIII in all subjects with the guidance of the faculty members headed by the Principal, DIET, Ranipet and being done by the Purposively Selected Secondary Grade Teachers and BT Assistants of nearby schools.

·        To corroborate the work, it is planned to conduct a Validation Workshop for the Powerpoint converted Video Programme.  It is decided to provide experience to the Middle school teachers and students by means of the PowerPoint Converted Video Programme.  

·        In this regard, on 07.01.2015, The POWERPOINT CONVERTED VIDEO PROGRAMME VALIDATION WORKSHOP was conducted at DIET Ranipet.

·        In the morning session, 20 VII Standard students from Gangadhara Matric HSS, Navalpore, viewed the PowerPoint Converted Video Programme of Unit I in III Trimester Tamil Subject.

·        I Unit comprises of the poem “Pongal Vazhibadu”, Uzhavin Sirappu, Prose – Natural Agriculture, Supllementary – Thoorathu oli” and Grammar – Veettrumai, Adaimozhi, Moovagai Poligal of Tamil subject. Each student registered their learning level in the Feedback Format given to them and it shows remarkable outcomes. Subject teachers accompanied the students also registered their opinion about the presentation in the Feedback Format designed for them specifically.

·        In the evening session, 22 VII Standard students from Thiruvika Middle school along with a teacher viewed the PowerPoint Converted Video Programme lesson of Unit II comprises Poem – Thirukkural, Mukkoodarpallu, Prose – Games of Tamilnadu, Supplementary – Friend, Grammar – Word of Tamil Subject.  Their responses are also noteworthy.
