EARNEST EXPERIENCE
Mr.A.BASHEER AHMED, PRINCIPAL, DIET, Ranipet.
Mrs.G.RAJALAKSHMI, II Year M.Sc., (Mathematics) University of Madras.
Once
upon a time, there was a King with strong Military forces. He planned to extend
his country’s boundaries. He tried many
wars with the neighbouring countries and was defeated every time. He was so disappointed. He discussed with his ministers and got many
suggestions. He followed their
suggestions in the succeeding wars. But,
he was conquered every time. The King got
vexed and gave up the idea of widening his country. He thought, he was
unfortunate.
He planned to go
around his country like a common man. He disguised as an old poor man and
walked on the street. No one recognized
him. One day went.
The next day, he was
so hungry. He wanted food and searched
for it. There was no house or shop
except a hut. He approached the hut and expected
someone to come out of the house.
An old lady was there
in that hut and she asked for his needs. The King requested her to provide
small amount of food. She expressed
sorry and told that she had only ‘Hot Kanji’.
The King accepted happily to take ‘Kanji’. She asked him to come inside her hut and sit
on the floor. As he could not bear his
hunger, he was eagerly awaiting food.
She went into a room
and came with a plate, full of hot ‘Kanji’. She placed the plate in front of him
and asked to eat. The King rushed his hand to take food and eat. He touched the
middle part of food on the plate and he shouted with ‘hhhaaahh’ as it was so
hot. She laughed at that incident and told that why he was also doing the same
as the King’s behaviour of that country. He asked her, why she was saying so.
She explained that
their brave King had superb form of army, but he was conquered every time due
to his unawareness. Always the edge part of food on a plate could be less
hotter than the middle part. But, he
urged to take food from the middle part. Likewise, the boundary of a country
could be less stronger than the Heart of the country.
During the War, one should
start from the boundary of the opponent country and progress towards the
centre step by step.

She said always her
King was attacking the middle part of the opponent country and loosing every
time. The disguised King understood his fault and explained the truth about
him. She felt uneasy and begged him to forgive her for discussing about his
loss and behaviour. Conversely, the King thanked her, made him realize his
fault and gave her lot of money.
He returned his
Palace with passion. Following the Old lady’s words, he started Wars with
neighbouring countries and won with flying colours.
Direct Experience lead
lots of lessons.
